Summer School 2004

We’ve been back from the annual camp only a couple of weeks and I’m already looking forward to next year!
The camp again was a tremendous success with much Kung Fu action and hearty Butlins style, bowling, snookering, computer gaming, paint balling and of course partying fun.  However, the camp isn’t the only activity we’ve been up to recently with my Sifu, David Richardson and helpers running a fun activities group for the youngsters over summer.
The Kung Fu Summer School was held from 9:30am until 3:00pm every weekday of the school Summer holidays with students ranging from three-and-a-half to sixteen years old.  Among the activities were rounders, painting and drawing, football, table tennis, outings to the local leisure centre park, video and computer games, Kung Fu, badminton, crash mat antics and of course, the almighty ball game!

Everyone involved had a fantastic time and it was great both for the parents, who had some much needed free time during the day and us as organisers, for whom it was also an interesting learning experience. What made the group so successful though were the children who took part, with some brilliant characters creating a really enjoyable social atmosphere.  I think the best way to convey just a few ofthe highlights of our time over the summer can be seen in the pictures below.
