Brief History of Dawid Lach
Martial arts was something Dawid always wanted to do and get comfortable with; he started kickboxing at Siu Lum Kune in 2015 when he was 16 years old. He was introduced through his good school friend, Callum Burkinshaw. He stated that he was new to this type of discipline and training, but the coaches and people that train at Siu Lum Kune are quick to motivate him to be his very best. He progressed through the grades but more enjoyed the fighting side of gym sparring, inter clubs and competitions.
From 2017, Dawid started to also train at the gym and using weights to enhance his strength and conditioning which aided his kickboxing training. He would often accompany Callum Burkinshaw to train at Brett Healey’s gym in Coventry and would often attend the inter-club and open sparring sessions organised by the club. From 2020, Dawid would also often train with Callum and Pro MMA fighter, John Robinson at private sessions at the academy. This would cover many different aspects including clinches, takedowns, Ju-Jitsu and boxing, all of which he enjoyed.
In 2021, Dawid joined the Police service as a special and then in December 2021, he achieved his Black sash in Siu Lum Kune kickboxing after a gruelling grading. He stated that he felt this was a great accomplishment but then soon realised that it was a start as there is still so much more to learn.

In 2022, he joined the Police full time and that the martial arts training had helped him in numerous ways in achieving this and living his daily life.
In September 2022, Dawid entered a local kickboxing competition at Newdigate club in Bedworth and easily won his bout showing some excellent kicking and punching combinations. He trains as often as his shift pattern allows him and states that he will continue to train and enjoy learning the art always aiming to improve for many more years to come.
